2012! New Year Outing and Vasilopita

In lieu of the scheduled meeting on the 1st Wednesday of the month, (i.e. 4th January 2012), our Club decided to head to Lobby Lounge Bar and Grill on the 6th of January for food and drinks and also the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita for the year 2012

2012 Club Vasilopita
For the benefit of our non-Cypriot followers, the Vasilopita is a traditional New Year's Day cake which contains a hidden lucky coin (flouri). It is traditional that each family bakes a Vasilopita and on New Year's Day, the cake is cut and a piece is distributed to all family members.

No Antonis, the flouri is not REALLY gold..
The person who finds the hidden flouri in their piece of Vasilopita, is thought to be
lucky and that the flouri will bestow luck upon them for the whole year.

In our family, the lucky person was our Immediate Past President Antonis Stylianou! Congratulations Antonis!

After the Vasilopita Dinner, the Club partied like it was 1999! It was back to the 90's night at 7Seas Bar

Below are some photos from the party!

You can find more photos from this club outing on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/AmathusiaRAC

Our Club would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and productive 2012!
